As part of ongoing construction by Beaver Water District, there are three planned upgrades of Fayetteville's water transmission lines over the next week to connect new infrastructure to the existing system. At this time, the City of Fayetteville does not anticipate noticeable service impacts to its residents, which includes the University of Arkansas.
However, the city is asking citizens to limit non-essential water usage Monday, April 20 - Wednesday, April 22, and additionally overnight Saturday, April 25 into Sunday, April 26. While the water supply shouldn't be impacted on those dates, the request is designed to ensure adequate water is available in case planned work on water lines takes longer than expected.
This should have little to no impact on most of the campus community, but researchers and others who may normally use larger amounts of water should consider a plan of action for these dates, if necessary.
