The Service Learning Initiative is proud to announce the recipients of their 2025-26 awards.
Awardees include:
Outstanding Contributions to Service Learning Teaching: Anne Velliquette, teaching associate professor and Retail Program director
Outstanding Contributions to Service Learning Student: Jenna Harper, senior public health student
Outstanding Contributions to Service Learning Class: LAWW 500V: Clinic: Community & Rural Enterprise (Peter Norman, instructor)
Outstanding Contributions to Service Learning Community Partner: Community Clinic
A ceremony recognizing the Student, Class and Community Partner recipients will take place on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 4-6 p.m. in the Walker Community Room of the Fayetteville Public Library. Faculty, staff, students and community partners are invited to attend and are asked to RSVP by March 23. Light fare and beverages will be served. Childcare will also be available.
Recipients of the John and Trudy Sher International Service Learning Scholarship will also be recognized at this event to celebrate their involvement in Service Learning opportunities abroad.
The annual Outstanding Contributions to Service Learning Teaching Award Ceremony will take place in fall 2026 and will recognize Anne Velliquette for her achievement. More information to follow.
