Second-year law student Emilee Webb has been selected to serve as editor-in-chief of the Arkansas Law Review (ALR) for the 2026-27 academic year. The outgoing executive board selects the incoming editor-in-chief and the editorial board.
Current editor-in-chief Kathryn Totty praised Webb's leadership and character, noting, "Emilee leads by example. She is thoughtful, prepared and deeply invested in the success of the Arkansas Law Review and our law school community. Having known her and worked alongside her, I have seen her steady judgment, professionalism and collaborative spirit in action. She has earned the respect of her peers through her work ethic and commitment, and I have no doubt she will serve the Arkansas Law Review exceptionally well as the next editor-in-chief."
Webb said she is "incredibly honored to have been given the opportunity to lead the Arkansas Law Review in the coming year. This opportunity is not one that I take lightly, and I am thrilled to do my part in contributing to this journal's incredible legacy."
A native of Poyen, Arkansas, Webb graduated summa cum laude from Ouachita Baptist University in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and political science. While attending law school, she has received the Thomas F. Butt Legal Excellence Prize in Civil Procedure, as well as the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Civil Procedure, Torts, Legal Research and Writing II and Professional Responsibility. She is a member of the American Bar Association National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition Traveling Team. She serves as a teaching assistant for Professor Amanda Fisher for legal research and writing, and as a research assistant for Research Dean Sarah Cravens. Webb also earned a place on the dean's list for three consecutive semesters.
Webb's professional experience includes working at Little Rock law firm Friday, Eldredge, and Clark as a law clerk and as a summer associate at Rose Law Firm. She also clerked at Gill Ragon Owen. She will return to Rose Law Firm as a summer associate this summer.
Webb currently serves as an ALR staff editor. Reflecting on her experience with the journal, Webb added, "ALR has given me the most incredible opportunity to enhance my legal research and writing skills while contributing meaningfully to legal scholarship. ALR has also strengthened my relationships with my peers by providing a positive working and learning environment."
She also expressed gratitude to the outgoing executive board for their mentorship. "I look forward to continuing the productive and collaborative environment this year and working with a fantastic team to produce the next year of ALR volumes.
