The Diamond Line undergraduate literary magazine is now accepting submissions. The magazine includes all original works from fiction, poetry, visual media, to comics. For this issue, the Diamond Line is also accepting anonymously submitted works for this semester's theme, Taboo.
Issue 12 asks, "What does it mean for something to be unspoken, silenced, uncomfortable or culturally off-limits?" Taboos can be intimate or public, serious or strange, humorous or unsettling. A taboo might be a secret, a social boundary, an inherited belief or something quietly present beneath everyday life.
Undergraduates interested in submitting, please email your work to litmag@uark.edu by the end of the day on Feb. 25 with your last name and submission genre in the subject line. Your name should not appear on the manuscript. More information can be found on our website, thediamondline.uark.edu.
Submission Guidelines:
· Poetry packets may include up to three poems (should not exceed 12 pages).
· Fiction and creative non-fiction are limited to 3,000 words.
· Comics should not exceed three pages.
· Visual art should be submitted in the form of a scanned copy or a high-resolution photograph.
· Translated submissions of any genre should include the source text, as well as a letter of given rights from the source creator or their estate.
· Students should attach their name, student ID number and a brief cover letter to their submissions.
· If you wish for your work to be published anonymously, please indicate that in your cover letter.
We can't wait to read your work!
