University Housing is accepting applications for two Faculty in Residence positions, offering full-time U of A faculty members the opportunity to reside on campus and engage with students outside the classroom.
The Faculty in Residence program supports student success by fostering inclusive, academically focused residential communities. These in-hall faculty mentor students and help connect classroom learning to campus life.
Faculty in Residence collaborate with hall directors and resident assistants to assess student needs and develop programs that support students' academic, personal and social development.
By living in the halls, faculty build meaningful relationships with students and gain insight into the challenges and opportunities they face on campus. These connections allow faculty to advocate for students and help them navigate academic expectations, campus resources and future opportunities.
The program encourages students to engage more confidently with faculty across campus. Those who interact with an in-hall faculty often report greater ease seeking academic support, mentorship, research opportunities and career guidance.
Faculty in Residence have organized programs such as Are You Smarter Than a Professor?, Sweets & Succulents, conversational dinners, Diversity Dialogue discussions, and Pizza and Politics.
Applications are due Feb. 13, with in-person interviews scheduled for late February. Faculty from all disciplines are encouraged to apply.
