Lenora Green-Turner, teaching professor of music, and Jarvis Young, assistant professor of African American literature, would like to invite everyone to share in this inspiring event of "Experiencing Langston Hughes Poetry" at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Christian Life Cathedral Chapel, 1285 E. Millsap Rd., Fayetteville.
Come join this impactful lecture to learn more about Hughes' life, mission and partnerships with composers who set his words according to their virtuosity, expertise and scholarship. Green-Turner and Young will be joined by alumni, students and guest pianists of Northwest Arkansas courtesy of Raquel King, founder of VOCE NWA, who is "strengthening the cultural fabric of Northwest Arkansas by gathering the community around live professional classical voice performances." Visit VOCE NWA to purchase tickets.
Let's come together and experience the poetry of a man who was a philanthropist, advocate for human rights and all American who believed in the expression of the arts.
