Wenoah Goodson, surplus warehouse manager for the university's department of property accounting, died Dec. 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 65 years old.

Goodson, from Farmington, served the U of A for more than 30 years and became a well-known figure among the university community as her commitment and vision helped shape the surplus department's operations for decades.

"Wenoah was more than a colleague - she was a mentor, friend and pillar of strength for those who worked alongside her," said Daniel Vondran, fiscal support manager for property accounting. "Her knowledge, kindness and dedication touched countless lives, and her legacy will continue to inspire us for years to come."

Goodson was born June 24, 1960, in Amarillo, Texas. Her greatest pride in life was her family, and she was known as a loving nurturer, often putting the needs of others before her own. She most enjoyed gardening, music and caring for animals during her spare time.

"Wenoah's contributions will never be forgotten, and her memory will live on in the work she helped build and the people she influenced," Vondran said.

She is survived by her daughter, Stella Joy Goodson, and son-in-law, Brady Beaver; brother Bruce Wilks and his wife, Lindy; niece Sarah Bauers and her husband, Ian; cousin Linda Myers and her husband, Michael; and four grandchildren: Rylan Goodson, Alicia Hernandez, Eleyna Hernandez and Selena Hernandez.
