U of A Researchers Invite Arkansans to Participate in 2025 Statewide Traffic Safety Awareness Survey
Researchers at the University of Arkansas, in partnership with the Arkansas State Police Highway Safety Office, are inviting Arkansas residents to participate in the 2025 Arkansas Traffic Safety Awareness Survey, an annual statewide effort designed to better understand public awareness of key safety campaigns, roadway behaviors and traffic safety issues across the state.
The survey gathers information about residents' knowledge of seat belt enforcement, distracted driving laws, speeding awareness campaigns, impaired driving initiatives and other state-supported safety programs. Responses help the Arkansas State Police evaluate the effectiveness of current outreach strategies and guide future recommendations to improve roadway safety for all Arkansans.
For the past several years, the Highway Safety Office has distributed the survey by mailing paper questionnaires directly to randomly selected households across Arkansas. This year, to expand participation and make the process more accessible, the research team is encouraging residents to complete the survey online using the secure Qualtrics platform.
How to Participate
Arkansas residents can participate by scanning the QR code below or visiting the survey link provided. The survey is voluntary, confidential, and takes approximately eight to 10 minutes to complete. Survey Link.
Why Your Response Matters
Survey findings help:
- Evaluate public awareness of ongoing safety campaigns
- Identify differences in safety attitudes across regions
- Improve communication strategies for speeding, impaired driving and seat belt laws
- Strengthen statewide efforts to reduce severe traffic crashes
The research team also analyzes trends over time to support evidence-based planning for future Highway Safety Plans.
