The University of Arkansas School of Art, housed in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences, invites the public to the annual Winter Art Market from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. The event will take place at the Studio and Design Center at 696 W. Praxis Ln., Fayetteville.

The market will feature artwork from School of Art graduate and undergraduate students, student organizations, faculty and staff, offering a wide array of pieces across multiple media, including linocut prints, stickers, photographs, greeting cards, ceramic items, textiles, live portraits, small paintings and zines. Designed to provide local artists the opportunity to showcase their work as many shoppers consider gifts for the holidays, guests will be able to peruse tables and speak with the creators.

"Our Winter Art Market is a chance for Northwest Arkansas residents to shop local while empowering artists across our school," said Kim Crowell, scholarships and awards coordinator, and one of the market's organizers. "Fayetteville's creative economy is thriving, and our students and faculty play a direct role in it by selling their work." Crowell noted that the event empowers artists at the school to hone their entrepreneurial skills, build professional networks and engage with the community.

The two-day event is open to all community members, with paid parking options available in the nearby Harmon Parking Garage, which is a short walk to the Studio and Design Center. More parking and transportation details can be found on the university calendar invite.
