Lori McLemore Retirement Celebration Set for Oct. 30
The University of Arkansas community is invited to celebrate the service and contributions of Lori McLemore, assistant director of marketing and recruitment for the Graduate School of Business in the Sam M. Walton College of Business, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in Willard J. Walker Hall room 504.
McLemore joined the Walton College in April 2013 as a marketing and communications officer for the Office of Marketing and Communications. In this role, she wrote feature articles, press releases, brochures and web copy, and managed social media accounts for the college. She also served as a media contact during special events such as the annual Arkansas Business Hall of Fame and the Arkansas Business Forecast Luncheon.
She later transitioned to her current position as assistant director of marketing and recruitment for the Graduate School of Business, where she has focused on promoting the faculty, staff, and students through feature articles, news releases, brochures and advertising.
Prior to joining the Walton College, McLemore worked in marketing for Boys & Girls Clubs of America, a national nonprofit headquartered in Atlanta, where she oversaw content for the organization's public-facing website and internal intranet serving approximately 3,500 local clubs nationwide.
"Throughout my career, the best part of every job has always been the people I've met and collaborated with," McLemore said. "A lot of life happens at work, and my coworkers have made it a rewarding experience for me."
In retirement, McLemore looks forward to visiting family and friends, gardening, reading, exploring national parks and spending more time with her husband Robert, adult children Sam and Maggie, and her miniature dachshund Coco.
Faculty and staff are invited to celebrate McLemore's contributions and wish her well in retirement.
