Bumpers Graduate Doyle New Faculty Member In Human Nutrition & Dietetics
A graduate of the program, Jullian Doyle has joined the U of A's human nutrition and dietetics program as an instructor.
HND is part of the School of Human Environmental Sciences in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
Doyle joins the faculty after working as a clinical nutrition manager at Washington Regional Medical Center.
"It is a privilege to work alongside the extraordinary individuals who were my professors as an undergraduate student," Doyle says. "It has been a seamless transition from industry to academia because I never lost contact with my professors - colleagues, now. They continued to open doors to job opportunities, networking events and experiences in our career field even though I was physically away from campus."
Beginning in the spring, Doyle will teach Community Nutrition, Medical Nutrition Therapy II and Nutrition Assessment classes.
"My undergraduate and graduate professors invested in me, and that investment has inspired me to fill that role for the next generation of dietitians," she says. "I am passionate about cultivating a supportive and engaging learning environment where we memorize foundational concepts and develop critical thinking skills. My hope is that my students succeed. Not success measured by an 'A' in the classroom, but the ability to deliver high-quality care that builds trust and rapport, strengthens communication and improves patient outcomes. The wise Maya Angelou said, 'People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.' There is a reason 'Care' is in the word 'Healthcare.'"
Doyle was named to the WRMC position in June 2023 after serving as interim clinical nutrition manager since December 2022. She has also been a lecturer in the human nutrition and dietetics program since January.
She began her career at WRMC in February 2020 as an infant nutrition lab technician before becoming a clinical dietitian in August 2021.
Doyle has been active in the community, serving as a speaker at Kimbel Mechanical, EOA Children's House, the Beating Parkinson's Together event at Washington Regional Senior Health Clinic, AHA Go Read for Women, AHA Sweethearts and the human nutrition and dietetics program's Student Dietetic Association meetings, among others.
A member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, she also taught at the UAMS Internal Medicine Resident's Conference, the WRMC RN Residency program, WRMC RN Enhanced Orientation and as a Certificate of Dietary Management preceptor, all in Fayetteville.
Doyle earned her bachelor's degree in human nutrition and dietetics from the U of A in 2020 and her master's degree in dietetics and nutrition from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2024.
She completed a dietetic internship at KUMC in 2020-21, compiling more than 700 hours of clinical nutrition experience at Kansas University Hospital, more than 200 hours of Rediscovering You community nutrition experience, 200-plus hours of Menorah Medical Center foodservice management experience and several hours of JayDoc Free Clinic outpatient counseling.
