Parking Impacts for the Upcoming Razorback Basketball Season
Both Razorback basketball teams are about to kick off their seasons, and Transit and Parking Services wants to ensure that the campus community is informed and aware of parking on game days.
Certain parking lots on campus must be vacated for men's basketball and women's basketball home games. The lots need to be cleared three hours before tipoff, but never before 5 p.m. on weekdays, to help accommodate Razorback fans attending the game.
On-campus students who need to move their vehicles are encouraged to use the economy lot (Lot 500 on Beechwood Avenue) and may move their vehicles back to the main campus once the game is over.
The red lots on the separate maps for men's basketball and women's basketball show which lots must be cleared for basketball games.
Resident lots do not need to be vacated before games. However, some resident lots are near the football and basketball venues, so it is recommended those permitholders try to avoid entering their lot leading up to and during the games, as police can turn away vehicles that do not have gameday parking credentials.
The men's basketball game against Southern, which tips off at 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, is the first basketball game that will require vehicles without a basketball parking pass to relocate from basketball lots.
The women's team's first home game is at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, against Louisiana Tech.
The full schedules for both men's basketball and women's basketball teams can be found on arkansasrazorbacks.com.
The U of A community can add all basketball events to their Outlook calendar as a reminder to move their car. Instructions for how to do so are on the parking website.
The U of A Campus Services Facebook page and the @uarkservices Instagram account will also post a reminder before each game to move.
There are two home football games remaining this season that also require lots to be vacated: Mississippi State on Nov. 1 and Missouri on Nov. 29. The football parking map shows which lots must be cleared before 11:59 p.m. the night before a home game.
Thanks to everyone for doing their part to make the U of A campus a welcoming environment for Razorback fans. For questions, please contact Transit and Parking at 479-575-7275.
