School of Art Expands Shuttle Access, Offers Free Tickets to Crystal Bridges Exhibition
The U of A School of Art in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences is expanding access to world-class art in Northwest Arkansas with two new programs for faculty, staff and students.
Crystal Bridges Shuttle Funding for Campus Organizations and Classes
Faculty, staff, registered student organizations and other campus groups can request funding from the School of Art to cover transportation costs to and from Crystal Bridges and the Momentary. The shuttle program supports experiential learning, cross-disciplinary engagement and provides an accessible way for campus members to visit world-class museums.
"We are thrilled to offer these resources to the campus community," said Rachel Debuque, director of the School of Art. "Expanding access to the arts is part of the school's core mission, and we hope these initiatives enrich learning while bringing the joy of art to individuals across campus." Debuque noted that the shuttle program launched earlier this year and has already transported more than 600 students.
"Fulbright College is proud to offer these services to our students, faculty and staff," said Brian E. Raines, dean of the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. "Firsthand engagement with art is a vital part of our students' education, and we're incredibly fortunate to have renowned institutions like Crystal Bridges and the Momentary right in our own backyard."
Crystal Bridges houses a collection of American art spanning five centuries. The Momentary is a multidisciplinary space for visual arts, performing arts, culinary experiences, festivals and artists-in-residence. Together, they serve as cultural anchors for Northwest Arkansas and key collaborators for the Fulbright College, the School of Art and other units across campus.
Shuttle services must be coordinated by the hosting group, and early submissions are encouraged. Requests can be made on the School of Art's transportation to Crystal Bridges and the Momentary request form.
Free Crystal Bridges Exhibition Tickets for Faculty and Staff
The School of Art is sponsoring free admission for all university faculty, staff and students to Get in the Game: Sports, Art, Culture at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, an exhibition that typically requires paid entry. Registration is open now and runs through Friday, Oct. 31.
Up to two tickets may be reserved with individuals' UARK email address using the promo code UAGAME on the exhibition site for any visit date through Dec. 31, 2025.
Get in the Game: Sports, Art, Culture explores how contemporary artists respond to the drive, passion, culture and systems surrounding games — and who gets to play them. Highlights include a portrait capturing swimmer Diana Nyad's determination, a reenactment of tennis champion Billie Jean King's legendary Battle of the Sexes match and a tribute to Arkansas-born NBA superstar Scottie Pippen. Organized by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the exhibition offers interactive experiences that tap into the spirit of sports, design and culture.
"This opportunity for faculty and staff to experience the exhibition for free is one of many examples of the School of Art's partnership with Crystal Bridges," said Kayla Crenshaw, chief of staff and director of communications. "The incredible staff at Crystal Bridges and the Momentary are always seeking ways to increase access and collaboration between our institutions. We hope this experience sparks new ideas for future partnerships."
