Transit and Parking Services staff took over Lot 500 on Friday, Aug. 29, with pizza, music and giveaways to create an enjoyable experience for students moving their vehicles before Saturday's home opener.

Lot 500 is the best place for students to temporarily store their vehicles for athletic events that require other parking lots to be vacated.

Hundreds of students attended the tailgate-style event and were able to ask staff questions about parking rules and receive guidance on how to best navigate campus.

Students can join Transit and Parking in Lot 500 prior to many of the home football games this season including these dates:  

• Sept. 26 before Notre Dame
• Oct. 17 before Texas A&M
• Oct. 24 before Auburn
• Oct. 31 before Mississippi State
