Do you love learning languages, reading fiction, learning about history, writing poetry, pondering human nature? Discover how these pursuits can become your greatest assets in today's job market.

In his public lecture "Humanities = Jobs," Alain-Philippe Durand, professor of French and the Dorrance Dean of Humanities at the University of Arizona, will challenge the persistent myth that humanities degrees don't lead to viable careers. Durand will demonstrate how humanities graduates develop exactly the skill set that today's employers value most — critical thinking, communication, cultural awareness and creative problem-solving.

Join us to learn how your passion for the humanities can translate into meaningful and successful career opportunities. The presentation will take place from 5-6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, in GEAR 026.
