The Arkansas Alpha chapter of Pi Beta Phi is proud to partner with Sigma Nu in hosting its 20th Annual 5K Run on Parents Weekend, Oct. 18, coinciding with the Arkansas vs. Texas A&M game. The event will take place from 8-10 a.m., beginning at the Pi Beta Phi gates near Old Main Lawn and winding through Fayetteville's scenic trails. This route offers parents, families and friends a unique opportunity to take in the beauty of the U of A campus while enjoying one of Fayetteville's favorite traditions.

The Pi Beta Phi 5K has grown over the past two decades into a cherished part of Parents Weekend. More than just a race, it is a celebration of community, philanthropy and the shared belief that every child deserves the chance to learn to read. All proceeds benefit children's literacy initiatives, providing vital educational resources both locally and nationally. From funding classroom libraries to supporting nonprofit organizations, the run directly impacts children's access to books, teachers and the tools they need for academic success.

The event welcomes all runners and walkers—whether you're an avid runner, a student looking to support a great cause or a family wanting to spend the morning together. Every participant will receive a free 5K T-shirt, making it a fun keepsake of the weekend.

Join us on race day and help continue a legacy of giving back. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children—one step, one book and one future at a time.

The link for signing up is also attached on our linktree through "ArkansasPiPhi" on Instagram and Facebook.

Don't miss the chance to be part of a special Parents Weekend tradition that combines community, service and Razorback spirit.
