Launch of Arkansas News Brief Part of Larger Effort to Customize University News Delivery

You may have noticed a slightly different name at the top of the university's regular news email, specifically the addition of the word 'Brief' to the title. This subtle change signals the launch of the Arkansas News Brief, a weekly sampling of university news highlights for internal audiences. The change is designed to differentiate Arkansas News Brief from Arkansas News online, the regularly updated, go-to source for all university news for internal and external audiences.

In order to share news that specific audiences find most relevant, faculty and staff will receive employee-focused news in a tailored Arkansas News Brief while students will receive news more geared to them. When news items are deemed equally important to the entire campus community, those stories will be included for all audiences. Keep in mind, all university news (including all Arkansas News Brief stories) is always available at Arkansas News online

Additional customization is being considered for the future, including the potential of providing college, school, department or unit-level news specific to the individual receiving the weekly Arkansas News Brief email.

Coming Soon: ‘Arkansas Impact’

In addition to the weekly Arkansas News Brief email, customized for employees and students, the entire campus community and other key stakeholders will soon begin to receive Arkansas Impact, a newsletter with stories that highlight the university’s public land-grant mission of providing value and positive impact to Arkansas and beyond. The frequency of the Arkansas Impact newsletter will be determined by the quantity of significant news items throughout the year.

These enhancements are a part of the university's previously announced effort to increase the effectiveness of sharing U of A news.
