Parking Guidance for the Beginning of the Semester
The University of Arkansas is ready to welcome over 7,000 student residents to the Hill this week for move-in, and Transit and Parking Services wants to ensure the campus community feels prepared to navigate campus during the beginning of the fall semester.
The last day that faculty/staff permit holders can park in resident (purple) lots is Tuesday, Aug. 5. All resident lots need to be vacated by 5 p.m. Tuesday to prepare for move-in operations.
Housing has more information on parking during move-in.
Permits for the 2024-25 academic year expired on July 31. Drivers can renew or purchase a permit for this academic year through the Parking Portal.
Parking on campus is the most challenging during the first few weeks of classes in the fall semester. During this time, Transit and Parking Services encourages the campus community to consider all available parking options while the university is at its busiest.
One of those options is Lot 500 on Beechwood Avenue, which provides additional parking for all permit holders. Razorback Transit will serve Lot 500 to give those who park in Lot 500 an easy ride to the heart of campus.
Staff members will be stationed in several lots and garages during the first week of classes to assist in finding parking availability.
Additional Information
-
The parking map and campus interactive map are both great resources to better understand the university parking system. They show which permit types are allowed in parking lots and garages.
-
Football is right around the corner, which means it's important to know which lots need to be vacated before home games. The football parking map shows which lots must be vacated before midnight the evening before the game. All game days that require vehicles to be vacated can be added to Outlook calendars as an additional reminder, and @uarkservices on Instagram will post before each game as a heads-up.

Razorback Transit is returning to full service on Aug. 11. Download the PassioGo! app to live-track the buses and view routes, stops and schedules.
-
Transit is expanding its services this year by adding additional buses to the most popular routes during peak demand hours.
