Let's welcome our newest Razorback with smiles and help them

Move-In 2025 officially begins this week, marking the arrival of more than 7,200 students with housing contracts.

While early arrivals begin today, most students will move in between Wednesday, Aug. 6, and Saturday, Aug. 9.

University Housing invites faculty, staff and the entire campus community to help welcome these students and their families to the University of Arkansas.

A Unified Welcome: Move-In Begins at Baum!

For the first time, all residential students will begin their Move-In journey at Baum-Walker Stadium, located on the south end of campus. There, they will receive their room keys, final instructions and a warm Razorback welcome before heading to their residence hall.

This new centralized intake experience is designed to simplify the process for families and celebrate the beginning of each student's Razorback story. It also helps ensure a smoother, safer arrival across campus.

Arrival Routes and Hangtags

Move-In route maps and color-coded hangtags have been provided to help guide students and families. These hangtags must be displayed clearly on the vehicle's mirror or dashboard to gain access to designated unloading zones near the residence halls.

Route information and downloadable maps are available at movein.uark.edu

Thank You, Welcome Hogs

University Housing extends heartfelt thanks to the many faculty, staff and student volunteers who have signed up as Welcome Hogs this year. Your smiling faces and helping hands make a real difference in helping new students feel at home from the moment they arrive.

"Move-In is a special time for our newest students, and I appreciate everyone helping welcome them to the Razorback family," said Chancellor Charles Robinson. "Your warmth and encouragement will let them know they're right where they belong, surrounded by people who want to help them succeed."

Parking Changes for Faculty and Staff

Faculty and staff should note that Resident parking lots must be vacated by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 5. These lots will be used for student unloading starting Wednesday and will reopen to permit holders on Saturday afternoon evening, Aug. 9, once scheduled move-in activities conclude.

Street Closure: Stadium Drive

Stadium Drive between the two roundabouts east of Adohi Hall will be closed to through traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday. Motorists will still have access to the roundabouts but are encouraged to use alternate routes and drive cautiously due to heavy pedestrian activity.

Student and Guest Parking

After unloading, students and guests must move their vehicles to alternate parking locations:

  • Garland Avenue Parking Garage (Levels 4-6)

  • Harmon Avenue Parking Garage (Levels 7-9)

  • Lots 320, 321, and 322 on the south side of campus

  • Lots west of Razorback Road (non-overnight only)

These areas are for daytime use only; overnight parking is not permitted unless otherwise indicated.

Traffic Support

The University of Arkansas Police Department will have additional officers on campus to assist with traffic flow and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all Razorbacks and their families.
