IT HOG Team Wants Your Input on Email and Mass Communication
The IT HOG (Hindrances, Opportunities and Guidance) Team for Email and Mass Communication has launched a survey to understand how students, staff and faculty use email and mass communications tools and what capabilities are needed across campus. Your feedback will help guide a recommendation for software, governance and accessibility standards that support both centralized and departmental needs.
Why We're Doing This
Mass communication tools such as Outlook, Mailchimp, Constant Contact and others are used for everything from classroom updates to external alumni outreach; however, varying tools and inconsistent practices create delivery issues, compliance risks and accessibility barriers.
The IT HOG Team is working to:
-
Identify key features and functionality needs across units
-
Evaluate accessibility and compliance concerns (e.g., WCAG, FERPA, GDPR)
-
Recommend centralized and distributed service models
-
Improve user experience and operational efficiency
Your Feedback Matters
Your insights will directly influence the future of campus communication. Please take a few minutes to complete the Email and Mass Communication Survey.
All perspectives are welcome, whether you send emails and communication to 10 or 10,000 people or simply receive them. Your feedback will help ensure our next steps are informed, inclusive and aligned with the university's mission of promoting collaboration, nurturing creativity and solving problems through research and discovery.
About IT HOG Teams: Each IT HOG team brings together campus partners to explore key IT challenges and make recommendations that improve service delivery, operational alignment and user satisfaction. These short-term groups work with transparency and collaboration to help the University of Arkansas stay innovative, efficient and user focused.
