Mathematical Sciences Hosts 50th Annual Spring Lecture Series
From May 15 through 17, the Department of Mathematical Sciences will be hosting its 50th Annual Spring Lecture Series. As with past years, the lecture series focuses around a specific topic in mathematics where local and visiting faculty give related talks.
This year's topic, "Linkage, Residual Intersections and Applications," will feature a series of five talks given by Prof. Bernd Ulrich of Purdue University, as well as other talks given by invited faculty.
While registration is required for attending the Spring Lecture Series talks and accompanying banquet, those interested may also attend the public lecture given by Prof. Edmund Harriss. The public lecture, "How Do We Know If Pictures Work? The Art and Illustration of Mathematics," will take place in Hillside Auditorium 206 the evening of May 15.
