Arkansas News Email Moves to Reduced Summer Schedule on Monday

The Arkansas News email will begin its reduced summer distribution schedule on Monday, May 12.

As the number of article submissions decreases during the summer, the news email distribution will be reduced, too. Initially, students, faculty, staff and other subscribers will find the news email in their inboxes on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule with fewer days per week as warranted.

News articles continue to be published daily online at  news.uark.edu, where readership is significantly higher than via the news email. Information about events should be submitted at calendars.uark.edu. Stories should be submitted as early as possible for consideration in the Arkansas News email, but not later than noon the day before the next scheduled publication.

What you need to know about the Arkansas News email and news.uark.edu:

  • News.uark.edu is the primary source for university news and information for internal and external audiences. This is where most people see stories about the university.

  • All material proposed for news.uark.edu should be submitted via the public submission form and must include a name, campus unit and contact information, which are published with the article. Anonymous submissions will not be accepted.

  • Content for the university's news email is selected from among submissions to the Arkansas News website by the Office of University Relations.

  • Submissions should focus on news about the university, its community of students, faculty, staff and alumni and their achievements, honors and service.

  • Arkansas News doesn’t accept news articles from outside organizations unless they have an established partnership with a campus entity.

  • The Arkansas News email, delivered to the entire campus community, provides a summary of select university news and information available at news.uark.edu. The university exercises editorial discretion over this content.

Students, faculty and staff are automatically subscribed to the Arkansas News email and receive either the Faculty/Staff version or the Student version.

Questions and suggestions can be sent to news@uark.edu.
