The third season of the Weekend Starts outdoor music series begins today, Friday, May 2, with the U of A World Music Ensemble, directed by Nikola Radan.

The series is free, and concerts are from 5-7 p.m. on Friday nights through mid-October (with a break in July).

This first concert is at the Lower Ramble, across West Avenue from the Fayetteville Public Library. Some concerts in the series will also be at the Upper Ramble, across from the Walton Arts Center. Weekend Starts is a collaboration between the City of Fayetteville, the U of A Department of Music and Mount Sequoyah. The schedule for the next three weeks is:

May 2 — U of A World Music Ensemble, directed by Nikola Radan — at the Lower Ramble

May 9 — Jake Hertzog Trio (5-7 p.m.) and Squonk (4:30-5 p.m. and 7-7:30 p.m.) — at the Upper Ramble

May 16 — Kaede Nishita Jazz Trio — at the Lower Ramble

The Ramble is the newest part of the growing Fayetteville arts corridor. For the Lower Ramble, there is convenient parking in any of the Fayetteville Public Library's lots. Feel free to bring a picnic, blanket or lawn chairs.

In the event of inclement weather, updates regarding cancellations or rescheduling will be provided on the city website. We encourage attendees to check for updates before heading to the event. For more information, go to Fayetteville Arts and Culture.
