Help Us Roll Out the Razorback Red Carpet: Become a Welcome Hog

Each August, Chancellor Charles Robinson and fellow campus leaders roll up their sleeves to welcome our newest Razorbacks as they arrive on The Hill. This fall, join the tradition—be a Welcome Hog and help greet incoming students and their families with a warm Razorback welcome.
At the U of A, we know that a student's first experiences on campus can shape their entire Razorback journey.
That's why we're inviting faculty and staff to help us create an unforgettable welcome for the Class of 2029 by signing up to be a Welcome Hog during Move-In, Aug. 6-9.
Move-In is more than just a logistical event — it's our opportunity to show students and their families the heart of the Razorback community. A friendly smile, a warm greeting or a helpful hand can make all the difference as they take their first steps on The Hill.
Welcome Hogs play a vital role in this experience. Volunteers will assist with:
-
Greeting students and families
-
Offering directions and move-in support
-
Managing key stations such as Key Tent Support, Parking and Traffic Coordination, Equipment Checkout, Elevator Control and more
Shifts are four hours long, and volunteers receive a complimentary meal ticket redeemable at Fulbright Dining Hall, Pomfret Dining Hall or the 1021 Food Hall — a small thank-you for your big impact.
"Move-In brings one of the most rewarding opportunities of the year — the chance to meet our newest Razorbacks and help them feel at home from day one," said Chancellor Charles Robinson. "I hope all faculty and staff will join me in welcoming the Class of 2029. They may not remember every detail of their first week, but they'll always remember how we made them feel: connected, supported and excited for what's ahead."
This is your chance to reconnect with the energy of our campus, support student success and be part of one of the most meaningful traditions at the U of A. Every smiling face and helping hand can turn a new student's anxiety into excitement.
