Mayor Rawn Proclaims April 30, 2025, as 'Dr. Ron Warren Day'

Happy Dr. Ron Warren Day!

On April 25, 2025, associate professor Warren was celebrated for his 28 years of service to the U of A Department of Communication, as he retires at the end of this semster. 

At the retirement celebration, Mayor Molly Rawn, alumna of the Department of Communication, presented a proclaimation claiming April 30, 2025, as "Dr. Ron Warren Day" in the city of Fayetteville. The proclaimation cited his leadership, commitment to students, excellence in resaearch and service to our community, stating, "Dr. Warren is a respected colleague and a beloved teacher held in highest regard by his peers and students."

Matthew Spialek, chair of the Department of Communication, said, "Ron is a true servant leader, and this proclamation is well deserved. He has served in nearly every administrative role in our department, including as our undergraduate director, graduate director, honors program coordinator, Lambda Pi Eta adviser, vice chair and most recently, department chair. Under his leadership, our graduation rates increased; our curriculum was restructured to provide students with foundational gateway courses to help them thrive in their senior coursework, and our students were offered increased financial support to pursue their own research." 

Mayor Rawn also encouraged all former students, colleagues, friends and family to congratulate Warren on his productive and impactful career in higher education.
