Observing Demin Day on April 30th with a T.E.A.L. Shirt
Every Tuesday in April, communities across the nation recognize T.E.A.L. Tuesday, encouraging individuals to wear teal in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and to promote education and prevention efforts. T.E.A.L. stands for Taking Every Action to Learn—a call to action to engage in meaningful learning, reflection, and advocacy to help end sexual violence.
One of the most significant events observed during SAAM is Denim Day, which will be recognized on April 30 this year. Denim Day serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to challenge victim-blaming attitudes and to advocate for a culture of respect and consent. Denim Day was born out of this act of solidarity and has grown into a global movement to confront harmful myths about sexual violence.
Each year, millions of people wear denim on this day to demonstrate support for survivors and to raise awareness about the need for cultural and systemic change.
