GPSC Announces Recipients of 2024-25 Awards

The Graduate-Professional Student Congress is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024-25 GPSC Awards, which honor the exceptional achievements, leadership and service of graduate and professional students, faculty, staff and community members who have significantly contributed to the success and wellbeing of the graduate student community at the U of A.

The awards were open for nominations from March 24 to April 7, 2025, and celebrated accomplishments achieved between April 2, 2024, and April 1, 2025.

We are pleased to recognize the following outstanding individuals:

• Graduate-Professional Student Mentor Award: Patrick McClain

• Staff Ally of the Year Award: Amirnezam Amiri

• Outstanding Faculty of the Year Award: Ali Ubeyitogullari

• Academic Prowess Award: Francis Torko

• Graduate-Professional Student Congress Outreach Award: Blessing Chukwuma

• Excellence in Research Award: Aubrey Studebaker and Sumanjot Kaur

• Administrator Ally of the Year Award: Professor Blair D. Bullock

• Graduate-Professional Student Government Service Award: Damilola Fadipe

• Campus Leadership Award: Maria Gorret Nabuwembo

• Community Ally Award: Maria Gorret Nabuwembo

The GPSC extends its heartfelt congratulations to all awardees. Their dedication, leadership and service continue to inspire and strengthen the graduate and professional student community at the U of A.
