Recording Now Available of Research Excellence Focused 150 Forward Progress Update

Chancellor Charles Robinson moderates the progress update of the Research Excellence pillar of the 150 Forward Strategic Plan.
Research Excellence was the focus of the third in a series of 150 Forward Progress Updates as campus leaders provided an overview of efforts to advance research at the University of Arkansas.
A recording of the Research Excellence Progress Update is now available.
"There is a lot of interest across the campus in how we're going to manage the landscape relative to research and what our plans are moving forward," Chancellor Charles Robinson said. "One of our goals is to reach higher by getting our expenditure number up to half a billion dollars. Now, we won't get there next year, just to get your expectations under control. But we're going to develop the plan to move progressively towards a much more robust expenditure as a part of our expression of Research Excellence. We realize that it's not just all about expenditures. Humanities matter. And it's important for us to produce research that effects all of our society in positive ways."
Moderated by Chancellor Charles Robinson, the April 22 event included a panel discussion with Margaret Sova McCabe, vice chancellor for research and innovation; Terry Martin, provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs; and Ed Pohl, dean of the Graduate School and International Education; followed by a question and answer session.
Research Excellence, along with Student Success and enhancing the university's status as an Employer of Choice, comprise the three pillars of the university's 150 Forward Strategic Plan.
