T.E.A.L. Tuesday: Promoting Consent and Sexual Assault Awareness"

T.E.A.L. Tuesday—Taking Every Action to Learn—is a campus-wide initiative that promotes awareness and education around sexual assault and the importance of consent. By wearing teal and participating in events each Tuesday during Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), students, staff, and faculty demonstrate their commitment to preventing harm and supporting survivors.

A critical step in prevention is education. Understanding consent is essential, consent must be clear, informed, and voluntary, and it can be withdrawn at any time. It is not the absence of a “no,” but the presence of an enthusiastic “yes.” This short video provides a helpful illustration of the concept of consent: Consent Video – “Tea and Consent”

Together, through T.E.A.L. Tuesday, we commit to fostering a safer, more informed, and supportive campus—one where consent is understood, respected, and championed.

To help promote Teal Tuesday, the Equal Opportunity & Title IX Office has placed teal ribbons and stickers in various locations around campus. These items are available to anyone who wants to show their support and participate in raising awareness for SAAM.
