UROCK Climbing Club to Host Film Screening
Get ready for the ultimate climbing adventure film of the year.
Reel Rock, an internationally celebrated annual film tour that showcases the most groundbreaking stories in climbing, is coming to Fayetteville April 25.
From awe-inspiring ascents to the powerful human experiences behind them, Reel Rock has brought climbers and adventurers together around the globe for nearly two decades. This year's film promises no less, with edge-of-your-seat moments and emotional depth that appeal to seasoned climbers and curious newcomers alike.
The UROCK Climbing Club is proud to present its second annual screening of this iconic film series. The event is free and open to all students and will take place at Boulders and Brews, located on Dickson Street.
With support from the U of A Outdoor Leadership Program (ODLR) and UREC Outdoors, the gym will be transformed into a screening lounge, complete with a big screen and free dinner for all students.
"This isn't just a movie night—it's a celebration of community," said Rayla Payne, an ODLR student and UROCK Climbing Club officer. "We want to bring together climbers and non-climbers alike for a night of connection, inspiration and fun."
The event also spotlights the Outdoor Leadership Minor, a unique academic program designed to prepare students for careers in outdoor education, adventure guiding and leadership development. Events like this showcase the program's commitment to hands-on, student-led experiences that build community and enrich campus life.
Whether you're an avid climber, an outdoor enthusiast or simply looking for something exciting to do, this event is open to all students. The screening reflects UROCK's mission to foster an inclusive environment where students can build lasting friendships through shared passions and outdoor adventure.
Attendees can immerse themselves in the thrilling world of modern climbing, connect with the broader campus community and enjoy the adventure.
