The U of A Department of Music, in collaboration with Mullins Library, invites the campus community to enjoy live, outdoor music beginning at noon today, April 22, on the Mullins Library patio outside of the Fowler's Nook Café. The lunchtime concert will feature performances by the U of A Flute Choir, Bassoon Quartet and the Lolazavijah Wind Quintet—a talented group of first-year students.

Audience members are invited to bring a friend, grab a coffee or snack from the new café and enjoy a vibrant midday musical break in the spring sunshine. All are welcome, and no tickets are required. This event is part of an anticipated future series called Java Jams.

"This exciting pilot concert kicks off what is envisioned as a recurring series of informal performances that create new, accessible performance spaces for student musicians," said Melanie Ferrabone, teaching assistant professor of bassoon. "With the generous support of both Mullins Library and the Department of Music, Java Jams aims to foster student and faculty community engagement and offer a fresh platform for student artistry in a welcoming, relaxed environment."
