'One Day, One U of A' Sparks Powerful Impact Thanks to Supporters
On April 10, more than 600 Razorbacks worldwide came together for the inaugural One Day, One U of A giving day to support 21 grassroots-led projects that mark immediate and lasting impact on students, faculty and the broader community. The One Day, One U of A event featured innovative, project-based initiatives led by faculty, staff and students.
"The outpouring of support for One Day, One U of A was truly inspiring," said Scott Varady, vice chancellor for University Advancement. "The loyalty and commitment of the alumni and friends of the University of Arkansas always leads to success, and what a wonderful and fun 24 hours we experienced! We are thankful for the generosity and enthusiasm from everyone who participated in any way."
In just 24 hours, the U of A community came together in an extraordinary show of support, raising more than $180,000 through 823 gifts. Sixteen projects received full funding, and more than half of the projects exceeded their goals. The funds will support a wide variety of programs, initiatives and big ideas that will shape lives and positively influence the U of A community, the state of Arkansas and the world.
"The success of our inaugural One Day, One U of A giving day is a testament to the generosity and spirit of our university community," said Amy Linimon, assistant vice chancellor of engagement. "We're proud of the momentum this day has created and look forward to building on it in the years to come."
