'Women of the World' Portrait Project on Display Through End of Month
In recognition of International Women's Day, the Office of International Students and Scholars is displaying a "Women of the World" portrait project through March 30 in the Anne Kittrell Gallery in the Arkansas Union.
"Women of the World" is an annual portrait showcase that started approximately two decades ago at the U of A. The gallery features portraits of current students from around the world and curated by photographers Cassandra Thomas, social media and content strategist in the Graduate School and International Education, and Josh Rodriguez, media assistant in the Office of International Students and Scholars. Each portrait is accompanied by a brief writeup from the student discussing themselves, their dreams and the women they admire.
"Women of the World" highlights the culture, fashion and influences of women for International Women's Day and Women's History Month. International Women's Day is sponsored by the Office of International Students and Scholars, the Multicultural Center, and the Graduate School and International Education.
The Anne Kittrell Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. For more information, contact Cynthia Smith, assistant director for engagement, at csmith@uark.edu.
