Spring Break 2025 Car Checks
As students, faculty and staff at the U of A prepare for spring break, the U of A Police Department is taking proactive steps to enhance road safety.
In collaboration with The Grease Pig and the university's Transit and Parking Department, UAPD will host a free vehicle safety check event to ensure drivers' vehicles are road-ready before they embark on their travels.
Stop by Lot 232 just off MLK Boulevard between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday, March 21, for the free checkup.
This free safety check will include an inspection of essential vehicle components such as lighting, fluids, tires and other critical systems. The goal is to provide peace of mind to students, faculty and staff by identifying potential safety concerns before they hit the road.
"With many in our campus community preparing for spring break travel, we want to ensure their vehicles are in the best possible condition before they hit the road," said Cpl. Allen Porter, UAPD's community outreach and involvement liaison. "Partnering with The Grease Pig and University Parking allows us to provide this essential service at no cost, reinforcing our commitment to safety both on and off campus."
