Distinguished Lecture to Feature Olympians Hunter and Tara Davis-Woodhall

Olympic power couple Hunter Woodhall and Tara Davis-Woodhall will deliver a moderated question and answer session as part of a collaboration between the Distinguished Lectures Committee and Associated Student Government Mental Health Team at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the Fayetteville Town Center.

Anyone planning to attend in person must reserve a free ticket. Ticket reservations for students, faculty and staff that have a current uark.edu email address will be available starting at noon on Monday, March 10, on HogSync. Any remaining tickets will be available for the public on HogSync starting at noon Tuesday, March 11. No admittance will be granted without a ticket.

Davis-Woodhall and Woodhall competed for the USA in the 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics, respectively. Davis-Woodhall won gold in the long jump and, in the now viral moment, ran straight to her husband (Woodhall) in the stands to celebrate. Woodhall competed in the Paralympics a month later and won gold in the 400m and bronze in the 4x100m Universal Relay. Hunter Woodhall is alum of the U of A.

The couple have built a following on social media, amassing over 9 million followers. They have been featured by numerous media outlets including ESPN, New York Times, CNN, Ellen and Good Morning America. Additionally, they have a successful speaking business, sharing their story of adversity and resilience with individuals, audiences and organizations. The couple was listed on Forbes 30 under 30 (Sports) list in 2025.
