Department of Communication Alumnae Earn Award at the BEA Festival of Media Arts

Department of Communication alumnae Rhonda Gulliver (middle) and Fedora Young (right), featured here with actress Geena Davis (left), took first place for their work on A Home for Change: An Interactive Experience in the Student Interactive Media & Emerging Technologies Competition in the Interactive Reality category at the Broadcast Education Association (BEA) Festival of Media Arts.
A Home for Change: An Interactive Experience was a gallery installation exhibited during the 2024 Bentonville Film Festival. The project was supported by faculty in the Department of Communication and the Film Appreciation Society.
They will officially accept the award at the BEA conference in Las Vegas this April.
There were over 2,285 entries from 300 participating schools. Winning this award is usually in the top 5 percent of entries.
