The Office of Transition Programs & Initiatives will be hosting a celebration to honor the successes of graduating first-generation students and their families! The U of A defines "first-generation" as someone whose parent(s)/guardian(s) did not graduate from a four-year institution of higher education.

We understand the journey it takes to be the first in your family to earn your degree, and it is an accomplishment that deserves to be celebrated! The celebration will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec.12, with remarks at 6:30 p.m. by our distinguished guests. The event location will be sent to students via email after they RSVP.

During the celebration, students will receive a special "First-Generation Graduate" stole to wear at their commencement ceremonies! Refreshments will also be provided along with free swag for students and their guests. Students can RSVP here

Because this is a catered event, we ask that students RSVP by 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec.9.
