New Security Requirement for Research.gov Users

The National Science Foundation has implemented a multi-factor authentication (MFA) requirement for all Research.gov users. This added layer of protection will help secure the research community's personal information, as well as university data pertaining to proposals and awards.

To simplify this process, Research.gov users can now log in with their UARK credentials, using the same MFA method already set up on their UARK account.

  1. Visit Research.gov and click Sign In.

  1. Select University of Arkansas from the drop-down under Organization Credentials.

  1. Click Sign in Using Organizational Credentials.

  1. Enter your UARK email address and security code(s) to authenticate.

Alternatively, non-UARK NSF credentials can be used to log in, but MFA setup will still be required. More information about signing into your NSF account or setting up MFA can be found on Research.gov Help. For assistance logging in to your UARK account, visit UARK Accounts and Passwords

Implementing MFA for research data aims to enhance the security and integrity of the university's research endeavors. This initiative supports the university's commitment to achieving research excellence and maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity.
