The College of Engineering invites you to an open house for the newly created Engineering One-Stop on the third floor of John A. White Engineering Hall. Please drop in anytime from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

Launched in 2022, Engineering One-Stop aims to improve retention and graduation rates by providing intensive, robust support to all undergraduate students. The program centralizes student success initiatives, academic advising, coaching, mentoring and other services for engineering, computer science and data science students under one umbrella.

Engineering One-Stop is a game-changer in the college's effort to increase its number of graduates as outlined in the college's strategic plan, Vision 2035, said Dean Kim Needy. Engineering One-Stop is already proving to be successful with the first- and second-year retention rates 6 percentage points higher than the college has seen in the past.

"Engineering is a challenging field of study, making our advising, coaching and support for students as important as what we teach," Needy said. "I'm pleased to see this initiative underway that offers so much value to our students and equips them with the tools they need to thrive in a changing world."

Engineering One-Stop was made possible by a generous planned gift from the late Robert H. Biggadike, a 1958 mechanical engineering alumnus. Biggadike's gift also funds faculty training, Biggadike Faculty Fellows and Biggadike Innovation Grants for faculty and staff.

Engineering One-Stop builds on the success of the First-Year Engineering Program, which has provided proactive support for all new first-year students entering the College of Engineering since 2007.
