U of A Mock Trial Launches New Season With Record-Breaking Wins

The U of A Mock Trial has kicked off its trial season with three separate tournaments for the month of October with record-breaking wins from all five teams! The U of A Mock Trial has kicked off its trial season with three separate tournaments for the month of October with record-breaking wins from all five teams! We are so honored to congratulate our members for their hard work and dedication to represent the U of A's Mock Trial program! Wooo Pig Sue Me!

The U of A Mock Trial has kicked off its trial season with three separate tournaments for the month of October!

Teams Renaissance and Never Say Never traveled to the University of Mississippi to compete in the Chucky Mullins Invitational, and Team Era's traveled to the University of Illinois to compete in the Illini Invitational. Team Never Say Never had an incredible showing, taking second place at Ole Miss with seven wins and one loss! 

Mary Owen received an outstanding attorney award with 19 ranks on the plaintiff. Vasoula Drosopoulos received two outstanding attorney and witness awards with 17 ranks on defense and 18 ranks for the plaintiff. Alongside, Katie Harden also received a 15 rank outstanding witness award on the defense.

Team Renaissance traveled alongside Team Never Say Never, with an incredible turn-out! Maddie Gwinner received an outstanding attorney award with 20 perfect ranks on plaintiff. Jackson Smith also received an outstanding attorney award with 17 ranks on the defense.

Team Era's also ended their weekend in Illinois with an outstanding performance with a total of four wins and four losses. Alongside, Avery Ferguson received an outstanding witness award with 18 ranks for the defense.

With the end of October's tournaments wrapping up, Team Currents and Team One Love competed in Des Moines, Iowa, at the Calkins Invitational. Faced with fierce competitors from the University of Minnesota and the University of South Dakota, Team One Love ended with a total of five wins and three losses, and Team Currents, with a record of four wins and four losses.  

Coglin Dexter received an outstanding attorney award with 18 ranks on the defense. Alongside, Lex Beck also received an outstanding witness award with 18 ranks on the defense.

These are the first tournaments of the Mock Trial season and many members' first competitions in a trial simulated court case. We are so honored to congratulate our members for their hard work and dedication to represent the U of A's Mock Trial program!
