Introduction to Business French Course to Be Offered in Spring 2025
The course FREN 43303 Introduction to Business French will be offered in spring 2025. This class offers an introduction and orientation to the world of French business and commerce through the study of vocabulary, forms, and formulas and expressions used in commercial correspondence. No business background is required. Much of what students learn in the class is useful to anyone living and working in a francophone country.
The class includes modules on French for medicine, which is useful to those planning to live in a French-speaking country, working for a non-governmental organization or pursuing careers in the health professions.
At the end of the semester, students enrolled in the class will take the exam for the Diplôme de Français Professionnel (DFP) offered in conjunction with the Chambre de Commerce de Paris Ile-de-France. Students may opt for the Business certificate (Affaires) or the Health Certificate (Santé). There is a $100 charge for the exam, which is paid through the students' UA Connect account. The DFP certifies that an individual has the proficiency level necessary to work in a French-speaking environment.
- Class time: MWF 11:50 a.m.-12:40 p.m.
- Prerequisite: FREN 31133 or FREN 31033 or consent of instructor.
