Submit Your First-Generation Stories

National First-Generation College Student Day is coming up on Nov. 8! Did you know that approximately 25% of the University of Arkansas student population is made up of first-generation students?

The Office of Transition Programs & Initiatives celebrates this day each year with a week full of events leading up to our big celebration on Nov. 8. We are continuing the tradition this year, with First-Generation Week taking place Nov. 4-8. A full schedule will be released in the coming weeks, so grab your calendar!

We need your help! If you are a first-generation student, graduate, staff or faculty member, we want to hear your story. Please fill out this form to share more about you, your background, and what being first-gen means to you. We will share your submissions with the campus community so other first-gen students can feel your support!

If you have any questions, please contact Skyler Ames-Patton, assistant director of transition programs and initiatives, at sbames@uark.edu.
