Parking Need-to-Knows for End of Semester, Transit Adjustments
The following are transit and parking's announcements for the end of the spring semester and start of the summer.
-
Parking: Parking will be enforced as usual through Friday, May 10. This includes Reading Day, May 3, and Monday through Friday of finals week. Summer enforcement rules will begin Monday, May 13.
-
Graduation: Commencement ceremonies will take place May 10-11, with several parking areas open to guests and family members. The university's commencement site has details on where is best to park for each graduation venue.
-
Bus Service: On the last day of finals, May 10, all transit routes will end at 6 p.m. There will be no service Saturday, May 11, to allow for commencement. Transit will operate its non-peak routes and hours beginning Monday, May 13, and will continue to do so until Aug. 9. Follow the real-time bus map at uark.passiogo.com to help keep up with the adjusted schedule.
-
Construction in Parking Lots: Summer construction projects will close several parking lots on campus. Those include Lot 41 (north of Reid Hall), Lot 50 (next to Humphreys Hall and Yocum Hall) and Lot 56B (on the corner of Razorback Road and Nolan Richardson Drive).
-
Safe Ride: During finals week, SafeRide will pick students up at their residence hall or the Union Station and take them to their car in any on-campus parking lot, in addition to its regular services. The last day SafeRide will operate this semester is Thursday, May 9. SafeRide will not operate in the summer.
-
Resident Reserved Lots: Beginning Monday, May 13, any vehicle with an annual faculty/staff or student permit (except the economy permit) can park in resident reserved lots until the beginning of August. Some reserved lots will not be available due to construction.
-
Permit Expiration Dates: The annual faculty/staff and student permits for green and orange lots expire July 31. Current resident reserved and student garage permits expire May 31. Faculty/staff parking permits for the 2024-2025 academic year will be available in July. Student permits will open a few weeks before the start of the fall 2024 semester. Once permits are available, they can be purchased online at myparkingaccount.uark.edu.
