Community members gather on Old Main Lawn for Cruise to Campus breakfast party.

Since their introduction in 2023, Cruise to Campus Wednesdays have fostered a gathering space for individuals interested in biking to campus. Whether you bike every day or are biking for the first time in years, you are welcomed at Cruise to Campus.

The Office for Sustainability will host its final Cruise to Campus event of the semester from 7:30-10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1. U of A students, faculty and staff are invited to stop by the event, happening on the northeast corner of Old Main Lawn. Riders will be welcomed with complimentary breakfast from Onyx Coffee Lab, a wealth of resources from community partners and other riders from across campus.

Don't want to ride alone? The OFS Ride Ambassador program identifies ride leaders to guide commuters as they ride to campus. Ride ambassadors take the stress out of planning a ride. Each ride ambassador has identified a safe and enjoyable route on which they ride to campus. Each route has designated pick-up locations, allowing others to join the group along the way. Often referred to as a bike bus, these group rides offer opportunities to connect with other riders and get to campus is a way that is safe and comfortable for everyone. Find the ride ambassador nearest you using our Ride Ambassador map. To see their bike bus route and pick-up spots, click the icon nearest your starting location and follow the bike bus link. New ride ambassadors are always welcomed. The Office for Sustainability works to make active transportation safe, equitable and enjoyable for everyone on campus. Biking, walking, skateboarding and other human-powered modes of transportation are sustainable alternatives to single passenger vehicles. According to the Office for Sustainability's 2022 commuter survey, individuals who bike to campus are reportedly more satisfied than those who commute by car.
