Join the U of A Inspirational Chorale for an unforgettable evening as they present their annual passion event, "The Passion According to Inspire!" on April 7 at the U of A Fine Arts Center. The renowned choir, led by Grammy Award winner Jeffrey Murdock, will showcase a mesmerizing performance that combines music, drama and dancing to retell the remarkable story of Jesus Christ's life.

The audience will be enchanted by an extraordinary collection of gospel music, spirituals and Christian pop songs, sung with the outstanding harmonies and the incredible vocal range of the Inspirational Chorale. The choir's unforgettable sound will fill the auditorium, touching the hearts of all those in attendance.

The Passion will be performed at Christian Life Cathedral located at 1285 Millsap Rd., Fayetteville. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26. Tickets for the show can be puchased here. General admission tickets are $20; student tickets are $10.

The Inspirational Chorale began in 1977 under the name Inspirational Singers, and later, under the direction of Eddie Jones, they increased community visibility, participation and musicianship. Under his leadership, the Inspirational Singers became an auditioned ensemble and a for-credit course within the Department of Music in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences. He later changed the name to Inspirational Chorale to reflect this more formal structure. Jones served as the conductor of the Inspirational Chorale for over 20 years until his untimely passing in October 2014.

The Inspirational Chorale continues to keep the Black sacred music tradition alive under the direction of Murdock. The ensemble provides a forum where university students, regardless of ethnicity, can perform the various genres of the tradition. The Inspirational Chorale, as an integrated part of the Department of Music, the academic community and the community at large, has enjoyed an illustrious reputation performing for dignitaries and heads of state. The ensemble has appeared at national and international conferences and has toured China, Ireland, Jamaica, Italy and throughout the United States, recently debuting in Carnegie Hall on March 17.
