Arab Student Association Iftar

Arab Student Association Iftar
Arab Student Association

For the Islamic month of Ramadan, the Arab Student Association will host an iftar at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Graduate Education Building room 163.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslims all over the world fast, refraining from eating from sunrise to sunset. After the sun has set, the fast is traditionally broken with dates and water. After prayers, everyone joins together in a meal, called iftar. The Arab Student Association will be hosting this iftar, with many foods such as gyro, chicken, falafel, rice, hummus, pita and more! This event is open to all U of A students, and this iftar serves as a great opportunity for students to learn about the Islamic faith and its practices, as well as its influence on culture throughout the world, such as the Middle East.

This event is supported by the Student Activities Fee as a funded event by the Associated Student Government and is free to all currently enrolled University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, students who pay the student activities fee. This event is held in a venue that meets ADA standards. Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend this event. If you require a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this event, please contact Alexander Rahal, aarahal@uark.edu, by five business days prior to the event.
