Eta Sigma Phi, Classical Studies Program to Host 'Shades of the Underworld' Halloween Event
The Beta Pi chapter of the national Eta Sigma Phi Classics honor society together with the Classical Studies program will host a Halloween event from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, in the World Languages and Digital Humanities Studio, J.B. Hunt Center room 207.
The event is open to everyone! Whether you are curious about the ancient Greco-Roman world or just a fan of Halloween, come geek out with us!
There will be free food and drinks and spooky activities like learning how to make your own Roman tombstone or curse tablet (no actual curses will be put on anyone). Costumes are encouraged — zombie Roman gladiator anyone? — but not required.
There will be a costume contest, snacks, drinks and supplies/resources will be provided. No Latin experience is required to participate.
