Need a laugh? University Programs hosts comedian and TikTok star Jake Shane at the Arkansas Union Verizon Ballroom at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23. This event is free and open to the public.

Jake Shane is a 23-year-old comedian and content creator based in Los Angeles. Shane's love for entertainment and pop culture brought him from New York City to California in 2018, when he started communication studies at the University of Southern California. Shane, a known foodie, began posting on social media in 2021, sharing his love for octopus in an amusing manner. His online character, dubbed octopusslover8, started as an inside joke among friends and family. Shane's Instagram and, later, TikTok profiles served as a creative outlet to express his humor and personality.

This event is sponsored by University Programs through the Office of Student Activities and is supported by the Student Activities Fee. This event is held in a venue that meets ADA standards.
