As the university celebrates Disability Employee Awareness Month, the Office of Accommodation and Accessibility Services invites the campus community to this free webinar from the Job Accommodation Network on Service and Emotional Support Animals in the Workplace at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17. Registration is required to attend this event. Please visit this link to register for the webinar here.

The law surrounding service and emotional support animals in the workplace continues to be confusing to both employers and employees with disabilities, while the use of service animals by employees while at work is becoming more common. This webinar will provide an overview of the most frequent questions the Job Accommodation Network gets regarding service and emotional support animals in the workplace and practical guidance for addressing the needs of employees with disabilities and the needs of HR, supervisors and coworkers.

Lisa Mathess is a principal consultant and a Americans with Disabilities Act specialist for the Job Accommodation Network, the leading national source of expert guidance on workplace accommodation and disability employment issues. Mathess is a member of the network's leadership team and has served in a consulting role since 2011.

Questions about the webinar may be directed to the Office of Accommodation and Accessibility Services at access@uark.edu. The university is committed to diversity and inclusiveness with the goal of providing an accessible, usable and welcoming environment for faculty, staff, students, applicants, visitors and participants in programs and services.
