More Online Scheduling & Walk-In Availability for Medical Appointments at Pat Walker Health Center

The Patient Portal at myhealth.uark.edu will begin to have more appointments available for scheduling online beginning July 3. There are also limited same-day walk-in appointments available at the Primary Care Clinic for acute and urgent care needs.

Beginning July 3, the Primary Care Clinic and GYN (Women's) Clinic at the Pat Walker Health Center will have more availability to schedule appointments via the online Patient Portal.

Previously, the Primary Care Clinic had a number of respiratory care appointments available each day, but patients were required to call to schedule those appointments. "We've made this alteration because we've seen a shift in how individuals want to access healthcare (post pandemic)," said A.J. Olsen, director of medical services for the Pat Walker Health Center. "We've noticed a preference in our population to utilize our patient web portal for scheduling an appointment rather than calling."

In addition to this, PWHC would like to remind faculty, staff and students that the Primary Care Clinic also has limited same day walk-in availability for acute care (i.e., fever, cough, cold or allergy symptoms) and urgent care (i.e., injury) needs.

"The Pat Walker Health Center strives to be the health care provider of choice for our campus community, and in doing so, means that we continue to adapt to the ways in which services are accessed," said Monica Holland, interim associate vice chancellor for student affairs and executive director for the Pat Walker Health Center. "Providing walk-in access is one of the many ways we continue to evolve to meet our community needs and to help sustain and maintain their health."

If you do not see the type of appointment you need on the Patient Portal, call 479-575-4451 or walk in to the Primary Care Clinic. The nurse triage team can assess if you need to be seen by a provider or need medical advice. Patients can also make appointments to be seen at the GYN (Women's) Clinic via the Patient Portal or by calling 479-575-4478. The GYN (Women's) Clinic has limited same-day appointments available.
